The Golden Alder (Alnus incana aurea) was planted by the Chairman of the TARRC Board, Datuk Abdul Hamid Sawal, by the L-shaped moat on the south facing side of the mansion and a plaque was presented and placed in the ground. The official date that TARRC moved to the Brickendonbury site from Tewin Road, Welwyn Garden City was the 24th July 1974. Since then TARRC has been able to utilise the up-to-date facilities and laboratories to offer more efficient services to clients and the Malaysian rubber industry. The added benefit for staff and visitors is the stunning grounds and scenery which is also made use of for such things as the annual Malaysian Carnival day and other functions run through the Brickendonbury Conference Centre (BCC). |
