Research and Development Engineer
We require an engineer with a good degree, or relevant experience and training, to join a team carrying out development work on rubber engineering products and assist with research and consultancy work on the design principles of elastomeric engineering components.
Specific tasks will be:
- to pursue development work on a rubber product.
- to design, commission, and look after test rigs
- to carry out endurance and characterisation tests on elastomeric components such as antiseismic devices.
- technical promotion of the work
The Research Centre, established in 1938, has earned an international reputation for high quality research on rubber. It is sited in a country estate just outside Hertford. It is well-equipped and offers the successful candidate a broad range of experience in engineering, materials, and research. Desirable attributes are: ability to work hard when alone or as a team member; willingness to think imaginatively and critically; engineering, scientific, electronics and computer skills; knowledge of manufacturing technology and a high motivation to learn and to produce results.
