IDP Division
Industry Development & Promotion Division

TARRC's Industry Development & Promotion Division (IDPD) is headed by Mr Salleh Subari and is made up of two units:

The Market Intelligence and Promotion Unit, headed by Kristina Lawson, and the Industrial Support Unit, headed by Dr Marina Fernando.

The Division’s primary role is to promote trade and investment in the Malaysian rubber industry. The core activities of the Division are related to the expansion of markets for Malaysian rubber products in the West and the promotion of manufacturing activities in the Malaysian rubber industry. Increased participation in European exhibitions is a vital activity for all staff where we can help to develop business relationships between Malaysian suppliers and European buyers, and promote investment opportunities in the rubber products manufacturing industry in Malaysia.

The Division also offers assistance to Malaysian product manufacturers with their factory production methods in the improvement of productivity and efficiency by reducing waste in all its forms. Division officers are experts in rubber technology and have the capability to develop formulations and processes for tyre retreading, injection moulding, extrusion, calendering and compression moulding and assessment of rubber flow using the equipment in a modern mill room.

As Malaysia is the largest exporter of medical gloves in the world, one other important role of the Division is to address the issues surrounding protein allergy and other allergic reactions to latex products.

A list of TARRC staff can be found in Organisation structure.
