New book published on the role of natural rubber in green tyre technology 'Turning Tyres Green'A new book entitled 'Turning Tyres Green' on the role of natural rubber in green tyre technology has been published and is now available from TARRC.

Much of modern transport depends on rubber to move over the surface of the earth. Tyre manufacture and natural rubber became linked more than 100 years ago and it has been said that NR is synonymous with the tyre industry.

This book has been written to mark the Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre’s (TARRC, the UK R&D laboratory of the Malaysian Rubber Board) involvement for more than 60 years with tyre technology research & development.

The book presents a comprehensive account of the remarkable research findings related to tyres leading to advancement in the tyre industry and safer, more sustainable tyres.

The chapters cover the early history of rubber tyres, basic physical properties, investigations undertaken at TARRC on wear, grip, truck tyres, retreading, greening of tyres, end of life reuse and a glimpse of the future for rubber tyres.

‘What a really excellent book, very well presented,
up to date and extremely readable.’
